"One week from today marks the start of National Singles Week. The dating service It's Just Lunch conducted a survey about dating attitudes and habits, and they broke out results for respondents in the Charlotte region. (For the uninitiated, Charlotte is one of 90 areas where the service will set up one-on-one lunch dates with compatible singles; check www.itsjustlunch.com for more info).
Here are highlights from the survey:
• 28 percent of Charlotte singles have been in three relationships lasting more than a year.
• 65 percent have been in a long-distance relationship.
• 30 percent have used a dating service.
• 49 percent say bad teeth is an automatic turnoff.
• 39 percent of men say if they dated an older celebrity, they would choose Annette Bening.

"Just a decade ago, only 8% of U.S. singles stated that they had ever used a dating service. Times have changed. Today’s singles are taking more proactive steps to improve their dating lives. According to a recent study of 3,968 singles, 48% of men and 52% of women have used a dating service to increase their odds of meeting someone. The study was conducted by It’s Just Lunch, a professional dating service that studies the behaviors and attitudes of single people."
